When you do everything yourself, sometimes you get a little inventive to make things easier. We took our typically hand crank powered crusher/de-stemmer machine and rigged it up to a recumbent bicycle with nothing more than a really long bike chain and a little ingenuity. Instead of using the hand crank, we pedaled the recumbent bike to crush and de-stem the grapes, producing our first pedal powered wine. It is made up of 77% Pinot Noir and 23% Syrah and loaded with juicy plum and purple fruit with an elegant layer of spice.
